With a whopping 80 players on his roster, Bryant Hornets freshman football coach Kenny Horn will[more] continue to observe and evaluate when his team hits the Bryant Stadium field tonight for a pre-season game against the Pine Bluff Robey Junior Zebras.
The format for the scrimmage, which commences at 5:30 p.m., will initially be 40 plays for each team with no clock. Each team will run 10 plays consecutively then switch sides. To follow, the two teams will compete in a 16-minute half. The kicking game will be included but there will be no returns.
“All we’re looking for Monday is the guys that are going to be physical and the guys that aren’t going to make a lot of mental mistakes,” Horn stated.
“Practice has been going good,” he added. “
I feel like we’re going to be okay. We’re going to be a little bit different. We’re going to probably be a little more ground-oriented this year as opposed to last year.”
The Freshman Hornets are set to open the regular season on Thursday, Aug. 30, at home against Hot Springs Lakeside.
