"After having to postpone our home meet Tuesday, it was great to finally compete against someone besides ourselves,” commented Hornets coach Steve Oury. “I thought all the kids did a great job. The senior boys are training through this meet and probably didn't feel as strong as they will later, but Luke Lindsley did a great job of getting a top 10 finish for us. We haven't had one of those in a long time in a senior high race.
"The junior high varsity race saw some nice performances, and it is especially encouraging since we had some very good runners who did not compete,” he continued. “So we will only get better. Coach Angel Dale at Bryant Middle and Coach Rhonda Hall at Bethel are doing a great job with those kids. We have some real talent at our middle schools."
The postponed Hornet Invitational will be held this Tuesday at Mills Park. The junior high girls race will get under way at 4:30, followed by the junior high boys, senior high girls, and the senior high boys.
