The Bryant Hornets B team swept a double-header from their counterparts at Benton at Bryant High School Field Monday night.
The Hornets won the first game 2-0, the second 3-1. The twinbill was a make-up for games rained out earlier in the season.[more]
In the five-inning opener, Tyler Nelson pitched a four-hit shutout, walking three and striking out four. He also pitched in offensively with a pair of hits including a double in two at bats. Ozzie Hurt and Cody Gogus each had RBI singles.
In the five-inning nightcap, Quinton Motto allowed just three hits. He walked two and fanned four.
At the plate, Tyler Green contributed a two-run double and Tryce Schachlin singled in a run. Devon Sears went 2 for 2 and stole a base.
Now 11-0, the Hornets B team is scheduled to host Lake Hamilton on Monday, April 5.
