The sixth annual Hornet Baseball Camp, directed by Bryant Hornets head baseball coach Kirk Bock, will be held June 12-18 at Bishop Park. The camp is open to all athletes ages 7-14.
Tuition for each camper ages 7-14 is $95. For each camper ages 4-6, it’s $55. To pre-register, mail a completed registration form, with a check made out to Kirk Bock, and send to 6620 Worth Ave., Benton, AR 72019.
Campers should bring cleats, a glove and hat, workout clothes and a bat. All clothing and equipment must be properly identified.
Each camper will be grouped by age and will be worked with on an individual basis and will be instructed and drilled on the fundamentals needed to become a complete player. Among the skills and fundamentals emphasized are pitching, hitting, motivation, base-running, infield play, catcher skills, bunting, outfield play, double play, sliding, stretching and throwing.
Sessions will begin with stretching from 9 to 9:10 a.m., followed by instruction from 9:10 to 11:30. After a 30 minute break for lunch, instruction will resume at noon until 1 p.m. Game instruction will be held from 1 to 2 p.m.
Each camper should bring his/her lunch in a cooler or lunch bag. It will be stored at the concession stand until lunch break at 11:30 a.m. The concession stand will be open for snacks, candy and canned drinks during lunch break and after camp each day.
