PEARCY — A small contingent of the Bryant Lady Hornet track team competed at the Lake Hamilton Invitational Friday and came away with sixth place in the team competition with 49 points. Texarkana won the meet with 106 points followed by Cabot with 99 points. There were 18 teams in the competition.
Junior Haley Hood led Bryant with 20 points. She won the high jump with a leap of 5’0″. She added a personal best time of 46.75 in the 300-meter hurdles to take second. She also finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.5.
Sophomore Jadyn Lewis scored 11 points. She ran a State-qualifying time in the 400-meter dash of 59.84 to finish second. She also jumped 16’2″ in the long jump to finish sixth.

Discus – Jenna Freeman – 4th – 99’7″ and Serenity Bridges – 5th – 96’7″
“Both Haley and Jadyn had outstanding performances,” said Bryant coach Danny Westbrook. “They are both working extremely hard in practice and providing great leadership to our team.
“We still have athletes we are trying to get healthy, so we did not load up on events at this meet,” he noted. “We are hopeful we can be full strength at the conference meet next week.”
