Hollis said he can offer the city solid experience starting day one having been a Chief Financial Officer for over 20 years preparing and managing multi-million dollar budgets in both the private and government sectors. Other experience includes accounting project management, computer integration, initial bond offerings, refinancing debt and water/sewer rate setting.
“The citizens of Bryant should have a voice on the Council that has in-depth knowledge and understanding of key financial matters,” he said.
Hollis has a B.S.B.A from Henderson State University and M.B.A. from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. He is a C.P.A. (inactive) and achieved Fellowship status in the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Community involvement has been demonstrated by service as Kiwanis Club President, Board Chairman of a regional Y.M.C.A. chapter, Bryant City Planning Commission and Arkansas Municipal League Advisory – Large Cities Committee.
“I have been a life-long resident of Arkansas,” he said. “Boneta and I have resided in Bryant since 2001 and witnessed the remarkable growth in our schools and community. We are proud that our four children have had the opportunity to grow up and become Bryant High School graduates, David, Kaitlin, Courtney and Garth.
“Bryant City Council should focus on the planning and development of our city with emphasis on resource management focusing on maximizing the return on dollars available,” he added. “Lowering our tax burden while improving our quality of life is a real possibility with some effort.”
The Ward 4, Position 2 seat is currently held by Steve Gladden who is not seeking re-election as a Bryant City Alderman.
