FAYETTEVILLE — In heartbreaking fashion, the Bryant Hornets battled the Har-Ber Wildcats of Springdale through a scoreless 80 minutes of regulation play, an additional 10 minutes of overtime then seven minutes of a second extra period before suffering a 1-0 loss on Friday at the Class 7A State Tournament.
“It was a very high intensity, exciting game,” said Hornets’ head coach Brett Haugh.
Bryant’s season came to a conclusion with a 16-5-1 record.
“I was very proud of how the boys played,” Haugh emphasized. “They left everything on the field and played very well. As a coach, I couldn’t have asked for much more.
“During this time of the season you always want your boys playing the best game possible and I believe the boys did just that,” he added. “You always look back and think if there was anything we could have done differently. We played the best game we had played all year and the boys worked hard. Like I said before, that is all I can ask for. It has been a great season.”
