Steve Gladden announced today that he is seeking election to the Saline County Quorum Court as Justice of the Peace for District 3. District 3 covers an area south of Interstate 30 predominately in Bryant.
Gladden is currently serving his fourth term as Alderman on the Bryant City Council. During this time, he has served as the liaison to the Fire and Police Departments and on the Finance and Personnel Committee.
“It has been an honor to serve the citizens of Bryant on the City Council, and now I am asking for the opportunity to use my experience as an alderman, business owner, and community volunteer to serve as Saline County Justice of the Peace for the citizens of District 3 and Saline County,” Gladden said. “I believe government should be efficient, effective, and accountable to the citizens that it serves. During my time in office, I have strived to keep the city tax millage low, support public safety, and be a voice for the citizens.
“I think it is important to encourage economic growth in Saline County to bring jobs to our community. If elected, I will work toward that goal,” Gladden said.
Gladden is a United States Marine Corps veteran and has served as State Commandant of the Marine Corps League of Arkansas. He currently serves on the board of the Saline County Economic Development Corporation and is c0-founder and past president of the Bryant Historical Society. He is a retired environmental consultant and hazardous materials specialist and has served as a volunteer consultant for Saline County Emergency Management for over 15 years.
Gladden and his wife, Michelle live in Bryant and are members of the United Methodist Church. Children Lorne, Aric, and Aaron Gladden, and Jordan Chadwick reside in Saline County. Children Crystal Dutil and Jon David Chadwick live out of state with their families.
