The first annual Starlight Gala is Saturday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. The event will be held at[more] the Center at Bishop Park.
The semi-formal event will feature Tom Baxley, donned in a tux, as the master of the ceremonies. It is sponsored by Landers of Benton and benefits the Bryant Boys and Girls Club.
"The Starlight Gala is a wonderful way to raise money and help children, which is our future and our responsibility, said Rodney Plack of Landers. “Being associated with the Boys and Girls Club of Bryant continues to be a blessing for me personally and for the Landers family of employees.”
The Gala is being organized by a partnership between the Boys and Girls Club and the Bryant Rotary Club. Dr. Deborah Bruick of the Bryant School District and Allison Ramsey are co-chairs for the event.
“I’m just thrilled to be a part of this inaugural event,” Dr. Bruick said.
“The gala is such a marvelous event for the community,” said Suzanne Passmore, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Bryant. “We have the opportunity to get dressed up, visit with friends, and raise money for one of the most valuable resources in the community."
Those who attend will arrive at the red carpet entry way and photographers will be capturing their arrival. The menu for the night will include hors d’ouerves such as shrimp, marinated beef and chicken kabobs, chocolate dipped strawberries, and stuffed mushrooms.
Every day, over 500 children walk through the doors of the Boys and Girls Club of Bryant, Passmore noted. By purchasing a ticket to this event, citizens of Bryant are helping these children in reaching their full potential in life, she continued.
“Through the support of caring individuals and events such as this, we will continue to impact the lives of young people in vital areas such as academic success, good character, citizenship, and healthy lifestyles,” Passmore stated.
Tickets are $50 each or $350 for a corporate table of eight. They can be purchased at Bishop Park, Landers of Benton, First Security at Alcoa and the Bryant School District Administration Building.
Proceeds from the event will go to purchase supplies for art classes, the Power Hour homework room, the Teen Center and afterschool snacks at the Club.
