CABOT — Led by Sydney Wilson’s 2:44.83, which garnered second, the Bryant Lady Hornets freshman track team had three runners score in the 800-meter run Thursday, providing 17 points to the team’s total of 60.5 at the Central Arkansas Junior High Conference track meet on Thursday.
Following Wilson across the finish line in the 800 were Rachel Curtis, who was fourth in 2:47.46, and Bree Hood, who was fifth in 2:48.55.
The Lady Hornets were fifth as a team. Lake Hamilton won the girls title with 173.25 points. North Little Rock was second with 138 points followed by Conway Blue (101.5) and Cabot North (69.75). Following the Lady Hornets, there was Cabot South (56), Conway White (17) and Benton (8).
The Lady Hornets’ day was also highlighted by Jadyn Lewis’ second-place finish in the long jump. She leapt 15’9.5”. Plus, Serenity Bridges scored in both the discus and the shot. Her discus fling of 80’10” tied for third place. Her put of the shot went 31’10” to earn fourth-place points.
Curtis added a third-place finish in the 1600, running a 6:05.30, while Lewis contributed a seventh-place finish in the 100 at 13.39. Wilson cleared 6’6” in the pole vault to finish in the points with an eighth-place result.
The Lady Hornets picked up fourth-place points in the 200 as Daelyn Young finished in 28.16.
In the relays, Bryant’s 4×100 team finished fourth in 54.83. Both the 4×400 and the 4×800 teams finished sixth. In the former, the time was 4:45.64. In the latter, it was 11:38.94.
