Onat Tungac, Aquatics Coordinator for the City of Bryant, has announced that the first official USA Swim meet will be held at[more] Bishop Park on Saturday, March 5, beginning at 8 a.m.
The meet, named CASC Racers Last Chance Meet, is free to the public.
“This is where swimmers try to qualify for the Arkansas State Championship,” Tungac said. “This is the last short course meet in the Arkansas Swimming League before the State and we are expecting around 150 swimmers to participate from all around central Arkansas.”
This will also be the new Aquatics Center’s first “real” test.
“I am very excited to put our facility to a real test,” Tungac said. “I hope everything goes well and swimmers swim fast.”
Warm-up starts at 7 a.m. and the meet starts at 8 with the National Anthem. Central Arkansas Swim Club is the host team for the meet and will be providing volunteers.
“We want to see new faces around the park, so if you have no plans for March 5, come on up and be a witness for this exciting event,” Tungac added.
