Justin Nelson knew he wanted to be a fire fighter, because of his family background.
His uncle Damon Nelson worked at the Benton Fire Department and his father Galen was the Fire Chief of Paron's volunteer fire department when it first opened.
"I enjoy helping people and this place allows me to come and do that and actually get paid for it," Nelson said.
Nelson has been a volunteer fire fighter for 26 years at Paron before becoming full time in the Bryant department. For the past three and half years, he has been the Paron Fire Chief.[more]
"I like the people," Nelson said. "A lot of people took me in like I have taken in my own kids and they take care of you and look out for each other."
Nelson is a fire fighter at Bryant Station three on Engine 21 as acting officer.
