BENTON — The Central Arkansas Development Council will host a free Money Smart financial literacy class on Saturday, Jan, 22 from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., at the Arkansas Workforce Center[more] of Benton, 400 Edison.
The Money Smart class is free and open to the public. In the class, persons learn tips to increase their earning power. That includes learning how to budget, spend money more wisely, and improve their credit. CADC utilizes the FDIC "Money Smart" curriculum, with topics that include:
Bank On It (bank services), Borrowing Basics (Introduction to credit), Check It Out (choosing a checking account), Money Matters (keeping track of money), Pay Yourself First (starting a savings plan), Keep It Safe (consumer rights), To Your Credit (credit history), Charge It Right (credit cards), Loan to Own (borrowing money), Your Own Home (about home ownership).
