Springhill Road was shut down this morning for several hours while Bryant Police Department officers and medical crews worked to clear the scene of a fatal accident this morning.
Just after 6:30 a.m., police were notified of the two-vehicle accident in which an 18-wheeler travelling southbound and a pick-up truck travelling northbound collided partially head-on at Springhill and Hilltop Road.
The drive of the 18-wheeler was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pick-up was pronounced dead at the scene. Names of the drivers are not being released at this time while the accident is still under investigation.
“The Bryant Police Department would like to express that our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of the victims involved in this accident,” said BPD spokesman Sgt. Todd Crowson.
