Bryant White prevailed 51-39 to improve to 3-2 on the season going into a Monday’s showdown with the Bryant Blue Hornets of Bethel Middle School.
Bryant White was clinging to a 6-5 edge at the end of the first quarter before finding its stride. It was 21-10 at the half and 39-19 by the end of the third.
“We played pretty well considering we haven’t been able to practice for a few days,” noted Hornets coach Heath Long. “I thought that, for the most part, we defended them pretty well in the half court and handled their pressure pretty well when they came out and pressed us.”
Tristan Calhoun scored 14 points to lead the Hornets. Jake Forst, Jakalon Pittman and Brooks Ellis finished with 6 each. James Polite and Grayson Prince added 5 apiece.
