LITTLE ROCK — The Bryant Hornets freshman team fell behind 23-5 by halftime and was never able to dig out of the hole in a 36-24 loss to the Little Rock Catholic Junior Rockets.
Brandon Hill led the team with 7 points. Sam Chumley had 6.
“We came out very flat and couldn’t overcome our poor start,” said Hornets coach Tyler Posey. “We missed easy buckets and had several turnovers that led to points.
“The fourth quarter, we played a much better game but it was too much to overcome as we fell in a deep hole,” he acknowledged.
Catholic held a 10-3 lead after a quarter. It was 34-10 going into the final period.
The Hornets wrap up their pre-Christmas schedule on Monday, Dec. 15, at home against Russellville. They’ll return to action after Christmas with the annual Kameron Hale Invitational Tournament at Lake Hamilton. They’ll open Saturday, Dec. 27, at 11:15 a.m., against Hot Springs.
