LITTLE ROCK — After leading most of the game, the Bryant Blue Lady Hornets eighth grade team of Bethel Middle School were caught and passed right at the end by the E-Stem Lady Mets, absorbing a tough 32-31 loss in their final game of the Wildcat Shootout at Little Rock Episcopal Collegiate.
E-Stem managed a 6-2 lead at the end of the first quarter but by halftime, Bethel had surged to an 18-12 advantage. Going into the final period, the Lady Hornets were up 27-20.
Mary Catherine Selig led Blue with 10 points. Ashlyn Thompson pitched in with 8, Lauren Burnett 6. Alyssa Fason scored 3 points, Rachel Studdard and Megan Lee 2 apiece.
Now 2-4 on the season, the Lady Hornets return to action on Thursday, Dec. 11, against Bryant White at the Bryant Middle School gym.
