Curtis Ferguson of Benton and a friend flew their helicopters to Bryant Stadium Friday to try to help dry out the field in time for the 2009 Homecoming festivities and the football game between the Hornets and the Cabot Panthers. Fund-raising efforts are under way to purchase and install an artificial surface for the heavily-used facility after the Bryant School Board voted to pay half the expense ($400,000 of the estimated $800,000) at its most recent meeting. The wet weather this Fall has rendered the field mostly mud.
