Bryant High School senior Jace Denker has been recognized as an outstanding Senior High[more] School Scholar Athlete football player by the Arkansas Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.
Denker, a three-year letterman as a kicker on the Hornets football team, and others who were recognized were honored at a ceremony held at the Riverfront Wyndham Hotel in North Little Rock on Saturday, April 7.
Those chosen for the award were not only based on football ability but on leadership, serving as role models for future scholar athletes, a holding a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
Denker is a member of the National Honor Society and attended Boys State. He is among the top 10 percent of his graduation class academically with a GPA over 4.0.
On the field, he accumulated over 100 extra points and 25 field goals with a long of 48 yards during his three years as the Hornets’ kicker. During the 2011 season, he kicked three game-winning field goals and put over 90 percent of his kickoffs into the end zone. He helped the Hornets win back-to-back conference championships in 2010 and 2011.
This fall, he plans to attend the University of Central Arkansas with an Academic scholarship and to walk on for the UCA football team.
He is the son of Kel and Lynn Denker.
This is the 30th year for the Arkansas Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame to sponsor the awards.
