Bryant city employees can rest easier knowing they have until July of 2011 to use the two extra vacation days that were[more] given to them this year as a bonus incentive.
"There was some conflict to get everybody to use their days before the end of the year, especially the police and fire department," Mayor Larry Mitchell said.
Full time employees have accrued vacation days and those days are posted annually on January 1 of each year after completing one year of service. The days were supposed to be used before the end of the year, but the Bryant City Council voted to extend this time frame.
"We're recommending those days be used by July," Mitchell said.
The issue was before the Finance and Personnel Committee in November with a recommendation made to give bonuses to all city employees that included an additional two days off from work.
