Bryant's Aaron Davidson, in his first start since the All-Star break, faced one over the minimum in three innings for the Arizona Giants of the Class A Rookie Arizona League on Monday night.
Davidson, in his first season of professional baseball after being drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the June 2008 draft, gave up two hits and struck out one in his team's 2-1 win over the Arizona Rangers.
After giving up a lead-off single in the first, the right-hander got the next batter to bounce into a doubleplay. In the second inning, he started with his strikeout then got the next two batters to tap back to him on the mound. A one-out lined single to center in the third was the only ball hit in the air against Davidson. After a force out that was followed by a wild throw that allowed a runner to reach second, he got the next batter to ground to first, taking a flip from the first baseman for the out to retire the side.
After struggling in his first three starts, Davidson has now allowed just one earned run on eight hits over 12 innings in three subsequent starts for the Giants.
