Bryant's Aaron Davidson turned in his second straight steller performance on the mound for the Arizona Giants of the Rookie division Arizona League on Thursday night.
The right-hander worked five scoreless innings, allowing just three hits without a walk. He fanned four. The game was scoreless when he was taken out but his team surged to a 6-3 win over the Arizona Brewers.
In four starts for the half-season league team, Davidson has pitched 14 innings, allowing 15 hits while striking out 14 and walking eight. But those eight walks and nine of the hits came in his first two outings, a three inning stint on June 24 and a two-inning start on June 29 when he surrendered six of the nine earned runs he's allowed this season. Opponents are hitting. 278 against him. Over the last nine innings in his last two starts, he's allowed six hits and one earned run without a walk. He's struck out eight.
