SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Though he had pitched several times in extended spring training games, Aaron Davidson, former Bryant Hornets and Black Sox standout, made his first official professional appearance on Wednesday, June 24, against the Arizona A's. Starting the Giants' third game of the half-season Rookie League team, Davidson worked three innings, allowed three runs, two earned, on three hits, walked five and struck out four. He left the game with his team leading 4-3 but the Athletics rallied for a 10-8 win.
The son of Jerry and Diana Davidson, Aaron pitched at Harding University and the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith before being drafted by the San Francisco Giants. He was also one of the leaders of the Black Sox team that reached the American Legion World Series in 2007.
