BENTON — The Bryant Hornets golf team took on a pair of 7A/6A-Central Conference rivals in a nine-hole match at Longhills Golf Club on Tuesday and, as it turned out, there wasn’t a lot of difference among them.
Little Rock Catholic finished with the low team score of 163 but Bryant and North Little Rock were just three strokes off that pace.[more]
Benton Harmony Grove golfers were also on hand.
Bryant’s Tyler Green turned in a round of 37, just a stroke off the pace of individual medalist Jessie Taylor of North Little Rock.
Austin Harman was Bryant’s second finisher with a round of 42. Chris Harris carded a 43 for the Hornets and Brandon Crosby turned in a 44 to complete the scoring group. Chase Thornton finished with a round of 49.
In girls play, the Lady Hornets were the only school with enough for a team score. Carley Miller led the way with a 49. Morgan Morehead finished at 50 as did Savannah Cathey to complete the scoring trio.
Caitlin Lawson and Kyann Lawrence each turned in rounds of 58 for Bryant.
Grace Grubb of Mount St. Mary Academy was individual medalist with a 41 for the nine holes.
Bryant will compete again at Longhills on Thursday.
