MALVERN — With a spirit of unity designed to strengthen communities and support their citizens, the Freedom for Life Re-Entry Coalition and New Beginnings Church of Malvern will be sponsoring a Re-Entry Fair on Saturday, Oct. 18.
The event will take place at New Beginnings Church, at 3603 Oliver Lancaster Boulevard in Malvern (formerly Hungry Fisherman restaurant), from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors will be present to answer questions and assist those facing challenges due to re-entry and addiction recovery. The fair is open to residents of Clark, Garland, Grant, Hot Springs and Saline counties. The event’s theme will be “Helping people change from the inside-out.” Complimentary hot dogs, chips and drinks will be served.
“This event will bring together a diverse range of resources that can create a positive difference for those serious about putting their lives back together,” stated Freedom for Life Re-Entry Coalition co-founder Michele Cannon.
New Beginnings Pastor Ian Kumpe added, “We are excited to be apart of such a worthwhile endeavor. It gives us the opportunity to truly change lives and improve our communities at the same time.”
Among the expected vendors will be Ambetter of Arkansas (Health Care), Court Appointed Special Advocates of Saline County, Arkansas Community Correction, Broken Chain Recovery, the Arkansas Office of Child Support Enforcement along with various other ministries and support organizations from a five county area.
Freedom for Life Re-Entry Coalition is a diverse group of community and faith-based leaders, government officials, policy makers, volunteers and other collaborators who are passionate about assisting the formerly incarcerated, parolees, probationers and recovering addicts who are transitioning back into society. The Coalition works to assist in such areas as housing, transportation, health care, food and clothing, employment, job training, life skills and family reunification.
