Four of the members of the two-time Class 7A State champion Bryant Lady Hornets softball team, along with head coach Debbie Clark, will be[more] participating in the Arkansas High School Fast-Pitch Coaches Association Junior Classic. The event will be held June 15-16 at Hendrix College in Conway.
Jenna Bruick, Kayla Sory, Jessie Taylor and Cassidy Wilson well be among those on the Maroon team coached by Clark with assistance from Benton Lady Panthers head coach Eric Ryan.
Bryant pitcher Peyton Jenkins, the Most Valuable Player of each of the last two State tournaments, was also invited but will be playing in a tournament in Florida at the time.
The Maroon team also includes Hailey Durham, Bailey LeVart and Lauren White of Benton plus Kali Piha of Bentonville, Tranice Hayes of Sylvan Hills, Cheyenne Mauldin of Paragould, Kayla Patton of Little Rock Central, Alissa Lawson of Crossett, Ashlyn Bigger of Pocahontas, Morgan Ramsey of Benton Harmony Grove, Jesse Van Es of Pottsville, Leah Choat of Clarksville and Milicent Talley of Cedar Ridge.
The Maroon team is one of six squads at the Classic. On Wednesday, June 15, Maroon plays the Blue team at 4 p.m. On Thursday, the Maroon team plays the Red team at 10 a.m., then takes on the Teal team at 2 p.m.
