The Bryant City Council approved the City Planning Coordinator job description as directed by the Job Evaluation and Salary Administration Program (JESAP), which provides[more] informational services to city governments on certain job descriptions.
"This is a job description for a planning coordinator that is being changed or proposed to be changed," City Engineer Richard Penn said.
The description includes the recognition of a degree in Urban Planning.
In general terms, the City Planning Coordinator develops and administers community development goals, objectives, policies and procedures, subject to City Council approval; plans, organizes, and manages the day-to-day zoning code implementation and long-term comprehensive plan activities.
Essentially, this position serves as administrative assistant to the Planning Commission and plans, organizes and manages the activities of the Planning Department, as well as preparing and presenting budget materials to the Public Works Director.
Other duties include, preparing agendas, maintaining records of the rules and regulations of the Planning Commission; developing, planning, and implementing goals, objectives and work plan; reviews drawings and documents submitted on comprehensive site plans; performs site visitations; makes detailed studies and presentations; and remains informed of the new trends in urban planning development.
