The Bryant Finance and Personnel committee passed a recommendation on to the City Council to transfer $50,000 from a bond to the general maintenance fund for the street department.
"We have transferred money throughout the year occasionally and we're at that point again," said City engineer Richard Penn. "We are trying to finish out the year with some projects and we'd like to have another $50,000 from the bond money to get these projects done."
The money would go to minor projects in the street department that include truck repairs and buying asphalt for potholes.
"These are minor things and it's a street-related expense," Penn said. "Next year, there will be another list of designated projects. This is for general operations cost."
According to Penn, all of the overlay projects have been completed within the city as well as major maintenance within the realm of the street department throughout the year.
"I'm not aware if there are any projects out there that have not been completed," Penn said.
The committee unanimously voted to recommend that the transfer of the money from a bond issued to the city to the street department's general maintenance fund.
