Once again the Bryant Area Chamber of Commerce and the Benton Area Chamber of Commerce will co-host the Legislative Breakfast at the Saline Memorial Hospital[more] located at No. 1 Medical Park Drive in Benton. The annual event will begin Friday, Jan. 21, at 7 a.m.
The Legislative Breakfast has been a part of the area for the last couple of decades, according to Rae Ann Fields, Bryant Chamber of Commerce director. “The purpose is to be better informed and involved. The legislators brief us on the goings on at the General Assembly,” Fields said.
The event is open to the public and people that want to address a particular issue with the legislators are able to at that time. The meetings are taking place annually now due to the General Assembly meeting every year, whereas they used to take place every other year.
“We never know what the turnout will be. If there is a hot button topic, the room is packed. If there isn’t anything capturing the public’s attention at the time, it may be very sparsely attended,” Fields said.
Both of the Chambers are expecting at least 30 to 40 community representatives.
