NORTH LITTLE ROCK — The surging Bryant Hornets soccer team took its shot at perennial 7A-Central Conference power Little Rock Catholic Thursday night at Burns Park.
The two teams battled without a goal for most of the game but the Rockets were able to break through with about 15 minutes left in regulation and held on for the win.

The win marked the start of the second half of the Hornets’ conference slate. Earlier in the year, Bryant had suffered a 3-0 loss at home to Catholic. Tuesday, April 13, the Hornets host Van Buren.
“We made one mistake in the back line and they took advantage of it on a through ball to goal,” said Hornets coach Jason Hay. “I thought we played hard and gave Catholic our best shot. We had our chances with some close misses with shots on goal but could not get one to go in. We will regroup and get ready to play Van Buren.”
In the JV game, Ryan Watson and Chase Stuart both punched in first-half goals as Bryant improved to 5-1 on the season.
