SHERWOOD — Bryant senior Nick Canale shot an 18-hole round of 83 to earn all-conference honors and lead the Hornets to a third-place finish in the Central Conference on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at The Greens at North Hills.
That third-place finish in conference was good for fifth place for the first day of the Class 7A State Tournament. On the second day, Canale shot an 82 and finished just a stroke away from earning all-State honors and a bid to the State Overall tourney.
As a team, the Hornets completed the competition with a team score of 694, seventh out of the 16 teams that started the tournament.
Fayetteville won the team title with a two-day score of 634. The Bulldogs were led by individual medalist Matthew Cole’s 36-hole total of 153, a stroke better than Conway’s Carter Cloe. Conway was the second-place team at 663.
For the Hornets, Logan Moore shot 169 (84-85) to finish as the team’s second finisher. Tanner Caton turned in a 178 (85-93), Luke Brantley turned in a 185 (95-90) and Zach Byars 185 (92-93).
