CABOT — An aggressive, deep Cabot South Lady Panthers eighth grade team put together a[more] 12-point first quarter to take the upper hand against the Bryant Blue Lady Hornets of Bethel Middle School Thursday night on their way to a 33-15 win.
The Lady Hornets trailed 12-4 after a quarter and 19-8 at the half. Cabot South then scored the first 11 points of the third quarter to break the game open. The Lady Panthers held a 30-12 lead going into the fourth quarter.
Britney Sahlmann led Bryant Blue with 10 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Ashlyn Taylor and Rachael Miller added 2 points each and Jordan McKnight 1. Both Taylor and McKnight had four rebounds.
“I was extremely proud of Britney and the efforts she put into the game,” said Bryant Blue coach Rhonda Hall. “She played really hard and tried to keep us in the game.”
Now 7-8 on the season, the Lady Hornets close out the season on Thursday, Feb. 2, against Bryant White at the Bryant Middle School gym.
