SHERWOOD — Bryant senior Katy Edwards shot an 18-hole round of 100 to qualify for the second day of the 2016 Class 7A Girls State Golf championship tournament at the Greens of North Hills on Tuesday.
Freshman Brooklyn Waller finished at 132 to miss the cut and the Lady Hornets were still without Maddie Stephens due to injury so they didn’t have enough to compete in the team standings.
“Katy played well and qualified for day two as an individual,” said Bryant coach Steve Griffith. “I’m very proud of her to get this opportunity her senior year.”
Conway was leading the team competition after the first day with a score of 242. The Lady Cats were led by Casey Ott, who carded a 72, to pace the field on the first day. Bentonville’s Kate Robertson and North Little Rock’s Hannah Bakalekos were three off the pace.
Rogers was second in the team standings at 254 with Bentonville at 255 and North Little Rock at 261.
