NORTH LITTLE ROCK — Bryant High School will be represented by a group of seven this summer at the annual Arkansas High School Coaches Association All-Star festivities in Fayetteville, according to the Arkansas Activities Association.[more]
Cheerleaders Kelly Cruse and Hollie Harryman and their coach Karen Scarlett along with dance team members Erica Reeves, Mariah McElroy and coach Laura Wooten and head volleyball coach Beth Solomon have been selected for the events to be held the week of June 20-25.
Harryman and Cruse will cheer on the East squad which will be coached by Meghan Ables of Stuttgart with assistance from Scarlett and Valley View's Sara Miller. The Bryant cheer squad recently qualified for Nationals in Orlando, Fla., next month.
Reeves and McElroy will serve on the East squad under head coach Dana Gibson of Nettleton. Gibson will be assisted by Wooten and Elizabeth Crowson of Jonesboro.
In addition, Solomon, who led the Lady Hornets to one of its finest seasons in years in 2010 including a win at the Class 7A State tournament, will serve as an assistant for the East All-Star team for head coach Vickie Gatewood of Nettleton. Margie McGee of Valley View and Lindsey Larry of Mountain Home will be the other assistants.
