CONWAY — Five different players contributed to the scoring as the Bryant White Hornets seventh grade team of Bryant Middle School earned its first win of the season on Tuesday, 17-11, over the Conway Blue Wampus Cats.
The Bryant team had opened the season with losses to Sheridan and North Little Rock Ridge Road in mid-November. Tuesday’s game was their first outing since Nov. 13.
“It was good to finally get that first win,” said Hornets coach Heath Long. “We actually played their eighth grade B team so I was glad that we got some competition against older kids.
“We played better than we did the last time out,” he related. “And we are going to try to continue that trend against Bethel next Thursday.”
