NORTH LITTLE ROCK — Bouncing back from a tough loss to North Little Rock Gold in the first round of the North Little Rock Middle School Invitational Tournament, the Bryant White Hornets eighth grade team of Bryant Middle School took an early lead against the rival Benton Panthers and never looked back on the way to a 49-23 victory on Tuesday night.
Myles Aldridge and Jeremiah Trezvant each scored 10 points while Austin Ledbetter and Cameron Hunter added 9 each for the Hornets. Aldridge also yanked down 10 rebounds and Ledbetter collected six. Hunter had five assists.
Bryant built a 12-5 lead by the end of the first quarter and held a 22-13 edge at the half. It was 34-19 going into the fourth quarter.
“We will play a very talented North Little Rock Blue team for third place in the tournament Thursday at 6 p.m.,” said Hornets coach John Harrison.
