The Bryant White Hornets eighth grade team of Bryant Middle School rushed to a 13-2 lead by[more] the end of the first quarter and never looked back on the way to a 48-29 romp against the Cabot South Junior Panthers on Tuesday night.
The Hornets improved to 4-0 with the victory. They’ll play next at Cabot South on Dec. 3.
Romen Martin fired in 14 points for the Hornets. Tyler Kelly added 11 with Jake East contributing 6 points. Jonathan Allen and Marvin Moody added 4 each.
“We got off to a great start and played pretty well in the first half,” noted Hornets coach Heath Long.
The Hornets led 24-10 by halftime and, though Cabot South picked things up in the third quarter, Bryant White still held a comfortable 36-23 advantage going into the fourth quarter.
“We didn’t get off to a good start in the third quarter but, fortunately, we recovered and played better as the second half went along,” Long said.
