The Bryant White Lady Hornets of Bryant Middle School outlasted the Cabot South Junior Lady Panthers on Monday to win the volleyball match, 25-16, 17-25, 16-14.
The team includes Mariah Aguilar, Jayla Anderson, Haley Collins, Claire Henderson, Madison Krick, Taylor Lindberg, Brittany McDonald, Makayla Nguyen, Alexis Parsley, Jessica Reese, Charli Sahr, Sarah Shepard, Abby Staton, and Jordan Tarvin.[more]
“We played a great first set,” said Lady Hornets coach DeAnna Ward. “We were up 19-7. I was able to get everyone some game time in the second set.”
Cabot rallied to win that second game to set up the tiebreaker.“We should have put them away easily in the last one but lost our focus,” Ward said.
Anderson served for points three through 7 then 14 through 16 in the final game of the match.
“Jayla served great,” Ward acknowledged. “She was nine out of 10 for the night with two aces and three assists.
“Taylor Lindberg also had a great night at the net with four kills and an assist,” the coach added. “Abby Staton did a good job of setting with five assists.”
Nguyen and Sahr each had three kills to with a four of five performance on the serving line. Madison Krick got both of her serves in.
Bryant White visits crosstown rival Bryant Blue at Bethel Middle School on Monday, Oct. 11 before closing out the season at Conway Blue on Oct. 14.
