CONWAY — The Bryant Middle School Lady Hornets eighth grade volleyball team wrapped up the 2013 season on a positive note Monday night when they went on the road to defeat Conway White, 25-18, 25-21.
“The girls played really good,” declared Lady Hornets coach DeAnna Ward. “I think it was their best game of the year. Conway is always a tough game.
“Our serving was great,” she emphasized, noting the team was good on 39 of its 48 serves.
Maddie Miller was 14 of 15 with five aces and Raven Loveless was 10 of 13 with four aces. In addition, Kyla Baker got in seven of eight and Jadn Nichols was good on all four attempts.
“At the net, Raven looked fantastic with three kills and four blocks,” Ward noted. “Erin Chappell also had a kill and two blocks.
“Our serve-receive improved a lot,” she said. “That was an area we have been struggling with and they really stepped it up.”
