NORTH LITTLE ROCK — The Bryant White Hornets eighth grade team of Bryant Middle School surged early and ran past North Little Rock Blue to capture the third-place game at the North Little Rock Middle School Invitational Tournament on Thursday night.
Austin Ledbetter led the Hornets with 18 points and seven rebounds. Aiden Adams added 11 points and Camren Hunter scored 8 while dishing out 11 assists.
“We came out in the first period and set the tone defensively,” said Bryant White coach John Harrison. “We noticed early they were not hustling back on defense and we got out in transition and scored often.
“Austin and Aiden shot the ball well,” he noted. “They hit five 3’s combined and with Camren Hunter’s ability to drive the ball we are tough to handle. We also got great play from our bench.
“It was a great team effort and we beat a solid group,” the coach concluded.
The Hornets, now 3-1, return to action on Monday, Nov. 28, at Lake Hamilton.
