Senior Night for the Bryant Lady Hornets volleyball program will be held this evening as the team closes out the regular season with a match against the Little Rock Central Lady Tigers at the Hornets Nest. There will be a junior varsity match at 5 p.m., followed by Senior Night festivities then the varsity contest.
Seniors Mariah Aguilar, Nikki Clay, Mercedes Dillard, Madison Greeno, Rylee Phillips and Abby Staton will be honored.
The non-conference match will be a tune-up for both teams headed into the Class 7A State Tournament in Fayetteville, which starts Tuesday, Oct. 28. The Lady Hornets are set as the No. 3 seeded team from the Central Conference and will open State against host Fayetteville, the three seed from the West, at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Little Rock Central, seeded third from the East Conference, will play Springdale Har-Ber, West 4, at 2 p.m., on Tuesday.
In addition, the post-season begins for the Bryant freshman team on Saturday at Russellville. The Lady Hornets tied for third in the Central Arkansas Junior High Conference but, with tiebreakers, wound up the fifth seeded team. They’ll play one of the other teams that tied for third, Conway Blue in an opening match at 10 a.m.
