The Bryant School Board has named Dr. Tom W. Kimbrell as its new superintendent of schools, effective July 1.
Dr. Kimbrell brings over 30 years of experience in public education to Bryant. He currently serves as the Arkansas Commissioner of Education, and was previously superintendent of the Paragould and North Little Rock school districts.
“We want to thank Dr. Fred G. Dawson for his leadership during this time of transition,” said Rhonda Sanders, board president. “And we are thrilled to have Dr. Kimbrell join the district. His strengths in school finance, curriculum and instruction will be especially beneficial.”
“The district’s reputation for staff and student performance, and for community involvement, is well known and respected,” Kimbrell said. “I look forward to this opportunity and am excited about where we can take the district.”
The Bryant School District, one of the fastest growing school districts in the state, has 11 schools, with 956 staff members serving 8,797 students.
