The Bryant Police Department received a call Wednesday to the Bryant Wal-Mart just before 4:30 p.m. regarding a white male that had just stolen several items from the store. When approached by the loss-prevention officer, the subject pulled a knife and swung it at him then fled on foot. The suspect got into a vehicle, an older model white Nissan four-door and left the area just before officers arrived on scene.
On Thursday around 1 p.m., Bryant officers located a vehicle that matched the description of the one from the Wal-Mart incident. The driver, Edelmann, also matched the description of the suspect and when questioned by investigators, he admitted to taking the items from Wal-Mart and swinging the knife at employees.
A few of the items stolen were recovered by police.
Edelmann will appear in court today for his bond hearing.
