The Bryant Police Department wants shoppers in Bryant to feel safe.
With the purchase of[more] an Eye in the Sky machine that allows an officer to rise in the air in an enclosed box with shaded windows to observe an entire parking lot scene for criminal activity.
"It helps the police department out as far as looking for criminal activity," Bryant' sargent Todd Crowson said. "It's a win-win."
Police can spot criminals trying to break into cars easier than patrolling a parking area.
"Up here you've got a better angle of seeing than you would say if you put an officer in a car just sitting out in the parking lot," Crowson said. "They wouldn't be able to see everything that's going on."
The Eye in the Sky has been seen at the Bryant Walmart, but is expected to be moved to other locations within the city.
