The Bryant Police Department received a call to Fred’s Pharmacy on Hwy 5 around 11:30 this morning for two subjects trying to pass a forged prescription from Dr. Columbus Brown IV for 180 Roxicodone’s. As officers were pulling into the parking lot, the two male subjects jumped into their vehicle and fled on Highway 5 toward I-30. Bryant officer was attempting to make a stop and the driver finally pulled over just before Springhill Crossing off Highway 5.
The driver later identified as Cedric Cobbs, 32, of Little Rock was taken into custody. The passenger, Gary Hunt, 59, of Bryant was later taken into custody after ACIC showed him to have warrants out of Sherwood and a Felony Parole warrant. The driver, Cobbs, was also showing to be driving on a suspended license due to nonpayment of child support.
Both subjects were taken to the Saline County Jail where they were charged with the following charges:
Cedric Cobbs: Conspiracy to Obtain Drugs by Fraud;
Fleeing;
Driving on Suspended Driver’s License
Gary Hunt: Forgery 2nd
Felony Warrants
