This past weekend, the Bryant Varsity Dance team attended camp at Arkansas State University in[more] Jonesboro earning several awards. The team took first place for its home routine, which qualifies it to compete at the Universal Dance Association (UDA) National Dance Team Championship in Orlando, Fla.
The team also earned first place in Drill Downs and gained a Superior Trophy for ribbon accumulation. The team received all blue ribbons (highest recognition) on dances learned at camp throughout the weekend. It received the spirit stick each night and was voted on by all the campers to receive the leadership award.
Seniors Haley Blumfelder, Aubrey Crockett, Mary Catherine Huffman, and Kelsey Rivers, along with Junior Haley Trantham and Sophomore Jessica Kooiman made UDA All-American. All eight seniors on the team were asked to apply for the UDA staff.
