WHITE HALL — The Bryant Lady Hornets junior varsity team played in a jamboree on Saturday and wound up the only team to go unbeaten. They defeated the host Lady Bulldogs, 8-3; downed Sylvan Hills, 14-1; and edged Benton, 4-3.
Kerrigan Allen, Shelby Stuckey and Anna Turpin were the winning pitchers.
“Overall it was a great experience for these girls,” said Bryant assistant coach Nathan Castaldi. “We got to see three quality pitchers and got a little better with each game. We played solid defense all day long to back the good outings by our pitchers.
“Some hitters that stood out were Baylee Rowton, Sarah Evans and Brooklyn Trammel,” he noted. “We finished up with Benton and played our best game of the day. We jumped out to an early lead and each time that Benton scored we responded. Jaclyn Greenwood made two great plays in the top of the seventh inning to clinch the win.”
