The Bryant Lady Hornets will indeed advance to the Class 7A State Tournament in Conway.
With the 56-30 loss to Siloam Springs on Friday night, the Rogers Heritage Lady War Eagles were knocked out of contention and the Lady Hornets benefited, gaining the sixth seed from the West Conference. Bryant will open State, which is being held in Conway, at 4 p.m., this Wednesday against the third-seeded team from the Central Conference, West Memphis, Fort Smith Northside or North Little Rock.
It was erroneously reported that the Lady Hornets had clinched the bid after Heritage lost to Rogers on Tuesday but the Lady War Eagles still had an outside chance to beat out the Lady Hornets with an upset of Siloam Springs in a make-up game on Friday night.
