PEARCY — After losing in straight sets at home to Lake Hamilton early in the year, the Bryant Lady Hornets freshman team nearly turned the tables on the Lady Wolves on Monday night.
The Lady Hornets couldn’t get over the top, however, absorbing a tough 17-25, 25-22, 12-15 setback in Central Arkansas Junior High Conference play.
Bryant hosts North Little Rock to continue league action this Thursday.
The Lady Hornets had eight players with kills in the match led by Faith Stone and Meagan Chism with four each. Kristen Boyle added three and Alyssa Bowers two. Faith New, Lindsey Maxwell, Jenna Vos and Imonii Jones finished with one apiece. Stone also had four blocks, Boyle three and Vos two.
Lake Hamilton proved to be touch on serve-receive. The Lady Hornets managed just three aces. Shannon Stewart, Emily Hall and Vos each had one. Maxwell was good on all 12 of her serves. Cassie Ray was 9 for 9 and Stewart got in all seven of her serves.
Ray led with eight digs. Stone had five with Stewart, Bowers and Madi Draper adding four each.
