RUSSELLVILLE — Losses in their final regular-season games left both the Bryant Hornets and Lady Hornets freshman teams with tougher assignments in the first round of the Central Arkansas Junior High Conference Tournament. And, as a result, both had their season’s come to an end Wednesday night with opening-round losses to their respective counterparts from Lake Hamilton.
The Hornets, who finished 12-13 on the season, suffered a 49-37 loss to the Wolves. The Lady Hornets, who finished 10-15 on the campaign, fell 25-10 to the Lady Wolves.
It was the fourth time this season that the Bryant teams had lost to Lake Hamilton. The Lady Hornets, however, going in drew some hope in the fact that only two free throws in the final seconds produced Lake Hamilton’s 21-20 win on Feb. 2.
Previously, the Lady Wolves had posted 27-18 and 32-24 wins over Bryant. The Wolves had defeated the Hornets 52-50, 44-32 and 48-33.
